"Sleepy Hollow" Gets A Founding Mother and Ichabod Casts His Vote!

Sleepy Hollow is rich with characters from past and present, all with their own "twistory" thanks to the ingenious writing team.  We've already seen George Washington (Louis Herthman), Benjamin Franklin (Timothy Busfield), Paul Revere (Paul Burke), Benedict Arnold (Scott Poythress), all of whom have crossed paths with our civil war hero Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison).  So who's next on the 18th century train?  According to TVLine, one of our founding mothers is set to make an appearance on the canvass--- Abigail Adams, John Adams' mother! Does this mean we'll also see our second President at some point?  I'd say it's a good bet!  For those unfamiliar with the famed founding mother, she was instrumental as an advocate fighting for women's equal rights.  

So who will have the honor of playing this important female in American history?  Buffy the Vampire Slayer veteran Michelle Trachtenberg has been cast and word is Abigail has a past involving Katrina (Katia Winter). Could it be that she was a part of Katrina's coven, Sisterhood of the Radiant Heart? We already know Benjamin Franklin did, so is it far fetched that Abigail Adams might be?  No!  My guess is it's most likely!  But how does her connection affect the coven's mission in the fight to stop Armageddon?  We'll have to tune in to find out!

In an interesting parallel, the November 3 episode titled "Deliverance", Ichabod will have a chance to see what he worked so hard for as he casts his first official ballot!  However, after everything he sacrificed in the name of freedom, his outrage at how few Americans actually vote doesn't go unnoticed.  In fact, he's appalled and rightly so!  I'm sure our founding fathers would be mortified at this after so many lost their lives to give us the liberties we take for granted in this country.  Though there are many problems with our government, those born in the United States should feel a duty to vote.  I believe every individual that signed the Declaration of Independence would be disappointed that it's taken so lightly 238 years later!

Voting isn't the only thing on Ichabod's mind. Even as Abbie (Nichole Beharie) has pointed out on a couple of occasions that Katrina's decision to stay with Abraham was her choice, Ichabod continues to worry for her safety.  However, the trust between them was completely shattered upon learning of yet another secret!  Omissions and lies aside, Ichabbie once again race to save her from a yet another perilous predicament. Will they make it in time?  We'll have to tune in to find out!

As the mid-season break nears, we'll finally meet Lori Mills (Anjanue Ellis), Abbie and Jenny's (Lyndie Greenwood) mother in November tenth's episode which producers promise will lead into a nail-biting mid-season cliffhanger!  With so much going on in Sleepy Hollow, I can only imagine what they've conjured to keep us on the edge of our seats!  I have a feeling there is an earth-shattering cliffhanger sure to make SleepyHeads cry at the long break!
