Fans Rejoice: Lexi Ainsworth Returns to General Hospital!

People talk of destiny, that the big man upstairs has plans for each one of us, though we may not realize what it is or where that path will lead us.  If someone told me four years ago that my love for Ethan and Kristina from General Hospital would have set me on the unexpected journey into entertainment journalism, I'd have said they were crazy! But here I am, doing something that I absolutely love, with success I never dreamed of.

Some ask me what RHeart stands for- 'Reluctant Heart' is the name of the Ethina (Ethan and Kristina smush name) fan board created to support Lexi Ainsworth and Nathan Parsons.  What made it even more special, was the fact that both Nathan and Lexi supported the fan board.  This rarely happens in the world of fandom, so I was so touched and honored that they supported us, as much as we supported them.

RHeart Network, the Fan's Voice was birthed after our girl Lexi was fired for reasons I will not get into here. We were devastated. All of us were so upset by the news, on a whim, my cohort Dania Padron and I started RHeart Radio on Blogtalk to give fans an outlet to express their feelings. Little did we know Lexi would surprise us by calling in during our Farewell Lexi episode dedicated to her! Such a cool moment in RHeart history!  I was mortified to learn the poor girl had been holding about 20 minutes! We were floored and so appreciated her taking the time.

After Nexi's (Nathan & Lexi smush name) exits, RHeart Radio continued, setting an example of positivity within the daytime drama genre and carrying on to make our dynamic duo proud though they had gone on to other projects.  We became involved with the 'Save Our Soaps' movement and assisted in the great task of keeping General Hospital on air.  Since then, everything snowballed as I started booking actors, writers, producers and directors from some of the most popular daytime, prime-time, online television series, as well as movies.  I've been so lucky to cover red carpet events such as the Daytime Emmy's, Indie Series Awards, web festivals, Comic Cons, film screenings and various fan events.  It's been quite a journey. Through all the ups and downs, lots of laughter and fun, a few very painful, agonizing misunderstandings and loss, I wouldn't change a thing.  I am very grateful for all the amazing opportunities I've had, as well as for all the incredible friends I've made.  Many of you are aware that I credit Nathan Parson and Lexi Ainsworth for this blessing because were it not for them, as well as the Ethina fans, the 'Reluctant Heart' fan board would never have been created, nor RHeart Network, the Fan's Voice exist.

Ethan and Kristina fans were heartbroken knowing we'd never see our couple get together. However, once a fan, always a fan! The fact neither remained on General Hospital never stopped us from supporting Nathan and Lexi as they moved on to bigger and better things! Nathan had incredible success on the hit HBO series True Blood and is currently in recurring status on The CW's The Originals. Lexi has been in several different television and movies, including CBS's Criminal Minds, Cougar Town, most recently on The CW's iZombie and Teen Wolf.  Not to mention her latest film, A Girl Like Me, which was released March 27, 2015.

When I heard Lexi was returning for a short time, I was ecstatic! She has been sorely missed and it will be nice to see our 'Davis Girls' reunited!  I hear Kristina is deviously manipulative as ever, with an edge that will be interesting to watch.  Last we saw of the character played by Lindsey Morgan, she had been charged with assaulting Connie (Kelly Sullivan) and was sentenced to 500 hours of community service.  Later, she was written off as she headed to Wesleyn University.

If you're an Ethina fan, you'll recall the final scene between Ethan and Kristina, November 4, 2011. She was headed off to Yale after getting off the wait list in time for late registration. Practically the entire cast was in those final heartbreaking scenes, including a drunk Diane, Max and Milo, "Who died? Who died?"  And then, "You beat the Grim Reaper, you're getting out of here!" Priceless.  Of course Ethina fans were anxious to see what Ethan would say since they had been tied at the hip most of the year, getting closer every day.  Our hero waltzed in late, to the dismay of Sonny, who reluctantly allows his daughter a little privacy for her final moments with Ethan.  After giving her a friendship bracelet, the exchange brought tears to every Ethina fan's eyes, as he wished her well.

Ethan: "When you get to Yale, take full advantage of the

 opportunities they have there. That includes people, okay? 

If you meet some bloak, give him a chance."

Kristina: "I'll give him a chance. But in my heart, I'll be waiting for you."

Since then, I'd say she matches Ethan's 'world experiences' in spades!  In my little fantasy world, they'd bring Nathan back for a couple of months so we'd finally get what we missed out on, then both could ride off into the soap sunset together!  I know, I know...but a girl can dream can't she!  So what is in store for Kristina? You'll have to tune in to General Hospital, 2 p.m. starting September 17!
